Wind Conditions at Plaka Beach

Plaka Beach is a unique kitesurfing spot that works with all wind directions, making it a reliable location for riders year-round. The beach is windy for more than 200 days per year, with the summer months being the most consistent thanks to the powerful Meltemi winds. These north-northwest winds blow at 15-25 knots, creating ideal kitesurfing conditions. During the summer, the wind starts early in the morning and blows steadily until sunset, providing a huge wind window for kitesurfers to ride all day long and make the most of their holidays.
